LCC leaders have a desire to improve the health of our communication among our Synod. The Synod Board of Directors has made it one of their top priorities to help facilitate this important goal. Through the Board’s Committee for Technology and Communications (CTC), LCC is developing a new communication tool for our people. It’s a website called the Servant Leader Network , and is intended to build a “digital bridge” over the vast geography of our Synod and enable people to grow closer together as we serve alongside one another within LCC.
It’s a website open to members of Synod (workers and the people connected to our congregations), and will be centred on the idea of “groups”; the site is essentially an “intranet” (an internal website) for the people of LCC. Both formal and informal groups can be created by users and will enable discussion, document sharing, event planning, and more within these groups. Examples of formal groups are the Synod Board, Board Committees, and Regional Mission and Ministry Councils. Examples of informal groups are those centred on topics and interests (e.g. youth leaders, music) and event or project-based groups.
Since the site is for the people of LCC, users must sign up for an account, and accounts are manually approved at this point; other than a bit of general information (such as this intro that you're reading), no content on the site will be available to the public.
If you would like to be a part of this new initiative, and the following describes you:
- connected to an LCC congregation
- willing to use newer technology to connect with others
- wanting to help LCC grow in improving our communication with one another
- willing to work within a “beta” environment where features may be changed/added/deleted along the way
you are invited to apply for an account. Your account will be reviewed within a day or so, and once approved, you’ll be able to sign in and begin to get involved.
We pray that God will bless the people of LCC through stronger connections with one another as together we serve Christ in His kingdom.
